As one of the social problems, sexual harassment has increasingly drawn the attention of female. Due to the present society where difference between male and female exists, female is placed on a vulnerable status, therefore, they are more likely to be the victim of sexual harassment. In 1985, "protect young women from sexual harassment "has been listed as one of the targets in "Nairobi strategy"which was passed by the 3rd global women's congress . In such countries as Japan, Mexico, and Indonesia, "women only" carriage in the subway and bus have been established, in order to prevent female customers from sexual harassment.Then, what's the current situation of sexual harassment in China? On the basis of 1000 questionnaire research,the essay penetrated into the essence of sexual harassment by showing a detailed situation of sexual harassment given by the interviewees, and measured the case from the following aspects: the proportion of sexual harassment, the manner, the reaction, influences, the essence, punishment measure etc. Further more, depth interview was carried on the basis of questionnaire, and typical cases were recorded, whether male or female, from which relevant information that can not be measured in the form of questionnaire has been added, such as their experiences and viewpoints of sexual harassment. All these investigation led to the reflection to the concept of sexual harassment. In the basis of research data, the writer used the theory of gender to analyze the unfair power relationship between male and female that disguised behind the behavior of sexual harassment, and from the theory angle of space and body, the essay illustrated the fact that under the current male-dominanted circumstance, sex element was neglected in terms of space design. Meanwhile, in accordance with the postmodern theory, discussing whether sexual harassment is a violation of social order and criterion. Finally, through the theory analysis, the writer trys to find the cause of sexual harassment and the prenventing ways,as well as put forward a practical way to solve the problem.
