With the increasing greenhouse gas emissions and the rising global temperatures, climate change has affected the survival and development of human society. The United States as the world's largest economy and the biggest country of greenhouse gas emissions per capita, the position of the United States in the field of climate change is very important to other countries, which directly influence other countries to develop their reduction targets of greenhouse gas emission and the emission reduction pace of the international community. In the January 2009, Barack Obama became the 44th president of the United States and made many changes and reforms in domestic and foreign affairs. In response to climate change, Obama administration not only enacted a number of laws and measures to develop clean energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, but also promoted the climate change communication and cooperation through bilateral and multilateral diplomacy. Meanwhile, Obama has formed a professional and experienced "green team" to implement relevant policies. The new concept of foreign affairs, the international and domestic factors and Obama's individual factor has great influence on climate change policy.Obama administration, which did not formulate a meaningful emission reduction target in Copenhagen Climate Change Conference, affected the other participating countries to develop their emission reduction targets and the final agreement. While Obama carried out extensive negotiations and mediations with many developed and developing countries, but the meeting did not formed a legally binding agreement. To face the adjustment in the field of climate change, China needs to be prepared and seizes the opportunity to promote exchanges and cooperation in Sino-US climate change and clean energy. It is very necessary to understand Obama's climate change diplomacy with the increasing significance of climate change diplomacy.
