Research On The Technical Characteristics Of Foreign Core Defender In CBA League In 2012-2013 Season

In recent years, China’s basketball professional league has become increasingly maturityand competitive. Taking Chinese and foreign core backcourts in2012-2013CBA league as studyprojects, the paper compares with their main skill aspects based on the game data in the wholeseason, finds out the skill divide between Chinese and foreign core backcourts, and tries toanalyze and study their offensive and defensive capabilities scientifically and systematically.Represented by Mabry and Jett, foreign core backcourts perform strongly and lead their teams togreat gains in games. These outstanding foreign aids, with master skills and superb physicalqualities, are playing an increasingly important role in games. And comparative study of corebackcourts had already become the research emphasis of domestic basketball researchers.By comparing the players’age, height, weight and Quetelet index, we can figure out thatChinese core backcourts had already meet the qualification of foreign aid in these aspects.However, gaps still exist in physical strength, physical confrontation, physical reserves andpersonal holding attack capability. Unstable basic attack skill and imperfect technical moves inhigh-intensity confrontation are our backcourts’significant shortcomings. Though scoring abilityhad improved obviously, the scoring means are dull and the hit ratio is low in jump shot, lay upand penalty shot. And more mistakes will give the opponent opportunities to fight back. What’smore,Chinese backcourts’individual defensive ability is low. Lack of aggressive, slow pacemoving,poor physical confrontation, too many unnecessary foul actions and rebound fighting arenot positive enough are also their defects. Although gaps on paper exist, Chinese backcourts stillhave their own outstanding features. This paper will analysis the advantages and disadvantagesof both players and make precaution measures for reaction plan in order to attract attention tocore backcourts. Hope this paper will offer a reference and theoretical basis for futureprofessional basketball training and competition.
