In this paper, from the aspect of body culture consumption,by using information retrieval, questionnaire survey, investigation and interviews,taking three tai chi practice places in Chengdu as the main object of study,analysis the changes in body culture of Tai chi, study consumption issues of taichi body cultural. Around the theme of study, analysis the social background oftai chi body cultural systematically; empirical researches are expounded from thefollowing four aspects: aesthetic study of tai chi body culture consumption;practice place research of tai chi body culture, function research of tai chi bodyculture consumption and study of tai chi body cultural identity; characteristics oftai chi body cultural consumption; the development of tai chi body culturalconsumption.The results show that:(1) tai chi body culture can be combine withconsumer culture, and tai chi body culture has been integrated into the consumersociety which displayed by practitioners status.(2) the limbs aesthetics of tai chibody culture act as "dance" tendency and "exaggerate" tendency, while the formalaesthetic is shown as tai chi dress and tai chi music.(3) the tai chi body cultureconsumption need some specific performance place.(4) the function of tai chibody culture consumption manifest as: the liberate of tai chi body movement,diversifying the practice purpose, promote the spirits relax of practitioners;maintain health status; maintain young status; give practitioners humanitiesconcern.(5) the tai chi body culture consumption can establishing culture identityof practitioners, including self-identity and cultural identity.Based on the analyze of social background of tai chi body cultureconsumption and empirical research of tai chi body culture consumption, thefeatures of tai chi body cultural consumption is mainly manifested in thefollowing four aspects:(1) consumption hedonism is associated with tai chi bodyculture, hedonic thought prompted the tai chi body culture become more free andgeneralization, and is no longer only focus on the body training.(2) Tai Chi bodycontrolled by the consumption pleasure, consumption pleasure is the motivepower of tai chi practicing.(3) Tai Chi body culture consumption emphasis onself-performance, such as: aesthetic development of Tai Chi body culture,specific "place" and so on.(4) Tai Chi body culture focuses on imagemaintenance, including external body maintenance and internal bodymaintenance. On the analysis of the compatibility of body consumption with tai chi bodycultural, and consumption characteristics of tai chi body culture, this paper putsforward the development of tai chi body culture consumption outlook. The maincontents are as follows:(1) the Tai Chi body culture as the consumption object,can effectively achieve the economic effect of tai chi, stimulate theindustrialization development of tai chi.(2) through tai chi body culturalconsumption will deepen the tai chi culture understanding of practitioners,convert tai chi from "traditional culture" to "cultural heritage".(3) establishingthe cultural identity of tai chi practitioner, achieve the ultimate goal of harmonyinside and outside.
