With the popularity and development and of the National Fit-keepingProgram since2002， Tai Chi Soft Ball， the newly emerging sport with aflavor of ethnic minorities， not only maintains the essence of spirits of TaiChi，but also comprises the technique and fist of the modern competitive sportslike tennis， badminton， etc. The unique characteristic sport is widely popularamong the mass sports fans. It has no constraints， such as time， space and thenumber of people. Tai Chi Soft Ball is cheap and not easily damaged. This goodexercise can be fit for different kinds of people in all levels. People can also berelaxed mentally and physically through the systemic exercise. In the context ofpopularizing the National Fit-keeping Program， there is still some room for usto improve the diverse research on the development of the program. Throughthe following research approaches， such as methods of documentation，interview， questionnaire， data analysis and comparison analysis of videos，research of electronic information network in universities， the author hasconducted surveys in such cities as Nanning，Yulin， Wuzhou，Baise，Hechiand Guangxi University for Nationalities and made comparative analysis ofteaching effect of exercising the Tai Chi Soft Ball. Besides， the author tries tofind out the driven forces for popularizing the Tai Chi Soft Ball， propose somehighly individualized advice and strategies in order to fully carry out theprogram of the Tai Chi Soft Ball for relevant departments and provide first-handdata and scientific references for police-makers.Research results show that:1. The sport of Tai Chi Soft Ball is played to a varying extent in all citiesand counties in Guangxi， especially in Nanning(Xixiangtang District，Qingshan District， Xingning District， Yongning county， Wuming county)，Yulin，Wuzhou，Baise，Hechi and other universities like Guangxi Universityfor Nationalites. What’s more， many people also take active part in fit-keepingshows and competitions in some places.2. Over the past five years， various kinds of Tai Chi Soft Ball shows andcompetitions， divided into different groups according to different systems，have been organized in Guangxi every year. Some outstanding players areinvited to display in the opening ceremonies of huge sports meetings and folkfestivals， such as Zhuang’(one of ethnic minorities)Double Third Day in thelunar calendar， China-ASEAN Expo， Mashan folk festival，2013Guangxi Teenagers’ sports meeting，2011sports meeting in Guangxi University forNationalities.3. By the optimization of the course construction system， the traditionalsport discipline in Guangxi University for Nationalities gives full play intodeveloping characteristics of ethnic groups in universities for nationalities. TaiChi Soft Ball， a newly emerging sport， won great support of universityleaders in all levels to purchase series of requirements. At the same time， thesport is introduced into an important course in the university， listed in theteaching outline of the Institute of Xiangsi Lake. On the60th anniversary ofGuangxi University for Nationalities， the performance， a combination ofplaying Tai Chi Soft Ball and dancing on the bamboo crowbars， has beenfavorably commented by large audience.
