The US AP (advanced placement) program is well-known for the reputation of "Excellence and Equity" all over the world. In reference to the idea of the AP project, the "Chinese Advanced placement (CAP)" course training agreement has been signed by universities with high schools in Beijing, Shanghai, Zhejiang and other places. Students in high school learn the college courses to pass the exam and eventually may have chance to get the ticket of university. The policy of college entrance examination has been innovated and reformed for many times in our country. It’s the most important standard in high school education. In order to achieve to cultivate diverse learners, we should develop the comprehensive abilities of students, and also create multidimensional academic evaluation standard. The CAP plan is still in early stages of trail and needs to continue exploration, innovation and optimization.After the introduction of the AP program, the number of teachers and students participate in the study and examination is increasing year by year. Because of the heat to go abroad a few years ago, students take part in the SAT test generally. With the impact of the AP trend by now, students hope to prepare better, they choose several AP exams for the application. The university enrollment is paying more attention to the AP scores of students, because of the AP program is improvement and scientific. Deeply ingrained of the exam-oriented, in order to change the phenomenon of education, many people are devoted to the education career, hoping to create fair and free education and evaluation system to get the real quality education. In recent years, many people concentrate on the "CAP" course. Some problems of the research are paid more attention, such as the selection of teachers, the evaluation system of CAP, and the relationship between the advanced placement exam and college entrance exam.Chemistry is a basic subject starting from junior three. It is one of specialized courses in university. Students think that college chemistry course and high school chemistry course do not bridge when they study in university. And some knowledge is little different. The advanced placement course could help students get a transition from high school chemistry to college chemistry. It can increase the interest of learning and cultivate more excellent professional talent person.This thesis contains five chapters:the first chapter is mainly discussed the background, purpose and significance, the present situation of advanced placement course.The second chapter mainly introduces the progress of CAP and discussed the development of US AP program to our own, show the present situation of ours.The third chapter is the study about the US AP chemistry examination and analysis some test questions of AP.The fourth chapter introduces the setting and evaluation methods, some test questions of CAP. Compared with the structure of AP chemistry exam, the author discussed and evaluated the characteristics of AP chemistry exam in China.At last, the author summarizes the development of our advanced placement program and gives some suggestions.Through these five parts, AP chemistry in our country is worth to studying. We hope that CAP courses can be better and more perfect, so as to realize the quality education in our country.
