As required by the increasingly rich and continuously developing social culture, the music education discipline in the higher normal universities of China has also faced the increasingly great challenges. Under the new21st century education form in China, means and options for the music education&culturing in higher normal universities are diversified as well. The specialty is set up not only in the music schools of comprehensive universities, but also in the specialized colleges and arts colleges.This research takes the music education departments of several universities in Beijing as the example and conducts a comparative analysis of their curriculum setting. As for the research methods, the literature research, the questionnaire survey, the data analysis and other approaches are adopted to study the subject in this paper. Moreover, by sorting out relevant literatures and the curriculum setting of different universities, related concepts have been explained, and my own assumptions have been put forward as well, in a bid to enrich the course theory factor for scientific architecture related specialties theoretically. In practice, reasonable suggestions can be made for the curriculum setting by the music education departments in higher universities according to the data of comparative survey and so on, which is favorable for adaptability of the music education specialty to the current economic, spiritual&cultural life in China.With the research in this paper, it is indicated preliminarily that adjustment should be made further in respect of the public basic course setting&capacity, optional humanity course standard&appraisal, and the education&artistic practice for the curriculum setting by higher universities.
