Writing has been the main and difficult point in Chinese language teaching. Much time and energy doesn’t seem to have paid off. At its most basic, inadequacy of teachers’ writing achievement is the direct reason for poor results of writing. This article made a survey of the teachers of Chinese in Simao, Pu-er city and discovered that teachers of Chinese lack writing achievement, and there’s some weakness in their writing theory, writing ability, interest in writing and the ability of revising students’ compositions. Teachers’ writing achievement constrains the effect of the teaching of writing, so it is quite necessary to improve the teaching of writing by improving teachers’ writing achievement. Achievement in writing theory, teaching of writing, revising students’ compositions and writing emotion makes up the writing achievement of teachers of Chinese. Theory is the foundation, teaching is the key, emotion is the motive power and revising is the bridge. Through this survey, I find that teachers’ writing achievement can be obtained by reading more, writing more, exploring more and revising carefully.
