With the development of teacher professionalized promotion and the universal ad vocation of reflective teaching, teachers are demanded to change their previous role of "teaching master" into the role of "reflective thinker" and re-establish the image of profession of teacher by study and research. Face to that, how will ordinary teachers in actual life understand, select, show different images of profession? What will make them feel puzzled, conflicted, what will they need, and which changes will happen in their psychological activities, when they build their career self role ? And how they understand and perform the role of "reflective thinker" under the concrete conditions of education? Those are subjects that the author tries to discuss in this paper. The paper is the case study of qualitive research on a individual teacher.Based on the close inquiry about the created question that how to be a teacher, the author cooperated with a teacher in a primary school, in Nanjing. According to thespecific need of changing the role of the teacher-from the role of the teacher insecondary school to the role of the teacher in elementary school, and the purpose of research , the author tried to help this teacher reflect her teaching based on the hope of searching "self " teaching, in order to advance the teacher to learn through experience of reflecting to enhance the reflective consciousness and deepen the comprehension of the role of "reflective thinker" gradually, and develop by the study of reflection . Therefore, the author carried out the research in three parts: Firstly, find out the teacher's expectations of her career and her life conditions by interviewing to decidethe need of professional development, establish research assignmentsconstructing the image of profession with searching "self " teaching; Secondly, research and reflect the "self of my partner by observing and analyzing her classroom teaching; thirdly, try to have a reflection after the teaching to make some improvements, with regard to the consideration that the teacher praised highly herself teaching in her practice.It is a hard job and it needs a long period of time for teachers to construct the image of profession themselves by developing with reflecting. They need a lot of supports and helps, such as the re-constructing of school organized culture, a group shared with a common purpose and interests, the force and order from outside, the professional help from educational specialists and so on.
