The main point the thesis raise is that the historiography theory of modern china had important influence over the middle school history education at that time. From the study we can find that the functions and the content of history education always regulate in pace with the development of the trend of the times, and this process is concerned with the development of historiography theory. It is advanced historiography theory that is the great power and unexhausted source of the reforms of history education. The major content of the thesis is as follows:In the first chapter, the course and features of the historiography theory of ancient China are simply reviewed. Among them, there was the great achievement; there were the failings as well .This provides a reference frame to the following analysis. In the second chapter, the historiography theory of modern China and the corresponding viewpoints of history education are discussed. Among them, the viewpoints and theory of Liang Qichao ,Hu Shi and Li Dazhao are analyzed chiefly. Their achievement separately embodied the three revolutions of historiography theory that took place in modern China, and they had many original views on the theory and practice of history education. The views reflected the demands of the times and the relations between the development of historiography theory and the reforms of history education. In the third chapter, I analyze the influence that the theory and the corresponding viewpoints of history education aforementioned had over the content, textbooks and teaching method of school history teaching. We can draw a conclusion from the analysis that thanks to the advanced historiography theory, obvious changes took place in history education of modern China, and made it adapt the times better. This played an important role in the development of society and the improvement of the national performance. But the functions were not taken seriously because of the limitations of the times. The author holds that the deep thought about the influence that historiography theory of modern China had over the process of middle school history education will be beneficial to the study and practice of advanced theory. The review will deepen our comprehension to the reforms of history education, and make us have a clearer sight to the future.
