The listening ability is the one that can be reached to use the oral language by the coordination of ears, brains and hands. It's very important for a vocational middle school student to have the high level of listening. I have investigated the current situation by answering in the papers where the students'ability of listening are trained at present. It's found that their attention of listening is diverted easily and that they are weak in distinguishing pronounciation, understanding listening, taking notes, appreciating and commenting. However, most teachers pay no attention to the currentsituation, listening teaching is in danger of treating coldly------the predicament oflittle knowing. In this essay according to the current situation, by practical research it point out that teachers should have a good view of listening teaching, follow teaching rules, formulate the training aims and contents, ways and methods of training students' ability of listening have been explored from combining with teaching in class including reading, speaking, writing, the special listening teaching and outside activities in agreement with appraising testing system. In summarizing the practial research, I also point out that all these, such as teachers'knowledge, textbooks, teaching equipment, examination system, have restricted and affected the development of listening teaching. Therefore, improving these statements will help to carry out listening teaching freely. At last, I'll call more educators to pay attention to the practical value of students'abilities of listening and speaking for vocational students and do more research about the ways of listening and speaking teaching in order to meet students' needs of developing themselves and the socity.
