Online Communities Learning Community Study

The idea of lifelong learning is being accepted, and the communication platform like BBS is popular for informal learning based on the Internet. So the communication platform is introduced to the education field, especially the adult education, but it is not as successful as in the informal learning.We think learning community is the active relation for students in the learning communication platform based on the Internet. And we should build learning community to make learning happen. In this paper, we try to find the factors that work on the way to build learning community, and give some advices to who wants to use online learning community in education field.In the paper we select two cases to study, and find out that communication methods and water region in the communication platform, rules and roles are important factors for an online learning community. In the last part of the paper, we give some advices to build learning community.
