Confucian Ecological Interaction Research, Thought And Green Olympics

With the ecological crisis becoming increasingly serious, Chinese Confucian ecologists and the Olympics all face the same problem. 2008 Olympics would be held in Beijing, China, a country with a history of five thousand years. The connection of Chinese Confucian ecology and "Green Olympics" would influence each other greatly, and the solution of the problem they are facing needs their efforts. After consulting the references, the author finds that there was much investigation about Confucianism's contribution to Olympics, but there is an obvious lack of documents on Olympics' influence on Confucianism, especially the documents that are made systematically, completely and comprehensively about their interactive relationship. Therefore, the author puts forward the interacting problem between Confucianism and Green Olympics.In this thesis, the author makes a study about the interactive relationship between Confucianism and "Green Olympics" in terms of their combination by consulting references, comparing and contrast historically, investigating on the spot, analyzing systematically and deducting logically. The conclusions are as follows:1. Confucianism provides the cultural origin for the development of "Green Olympics". In its inheritance and development, "Green Olympics" enriches the connotation of Confucianism on the base of digesting the positive thoughts of Confucianism.2. As for the construction of "Green Olympics" against Confucianism, it should be guided by the principle of "combination". Only with our sincerity for nature, could we realize the co-existence of human beings, Olympics and nature. And the ideal stage of "combination" should also be the aim for "Green Olympics".3. Confucianism should develop with "Green Olympics" for its transmission in the modern society, on one hand, it should reflected and reconstructed, on the other hand, it should reflect in the development of "Green Olympics".4. There are certain differences between western ecology thought and Confucian ecologism, so during their connection, there would be conflicts and adjustments, and the sustainable development of "Green Olympics" should depend on their positive interaction.5. "Green Olympics" would influence Confucian ecologism deeply and systematically, and it would enrich the rational aspect of Chinese traditional Confucian ecologism, it would cultivate people's consciousness of protecting environment, it would reinforce people's awareness of scientific ecology; it would strengthen people's modern aesthetic consciousness, and it would change our concept of ecology education.6. The modernization of Confucian ecologism would enrich the connotation of "Green Olympics", propel Beijing Olympics to practice the thoughts of "Green Olympics" perfectly, better Beijing ecological environment. Besides, Confucian ecologism is profound, and its connotation, "combination", would provide a feasible solution to solve the problems occurred.7. In this thesis, the idea of strengthening the study of "Green Olympics" is based on modernization, it would us understand Olympics better, so as to propel Confucian ecologism to develop globally, improve the social culture, better the ecological environment of the city holding Olympic Games, and it would offer certain support for the sustainable development of "Green Olympics".
