The living situation of the teachers in rural civilian-run kindergartens refers to the material and spiritual state of the kindergarten teaching groups against the particular background of the promotion of reform in the management system of kindergartens. Raising concern over this theme not only helps improve the quality of the teachers' work and life but also helps improve the quality of rural kindergarten education and additionally serves the purpose of developing new socialist countryside. By integrating various research methods such as doing questionnaires and interviews, this research deals systematically with the current living situation of the teachers in the civilian-run kindergartens in the rural areas of Rudong County and relevant influential factors and puts forward some solutions on how to improve the living situation of the kindergarten teachers in rural areas. Based on all this conclusions are drawn and reflection on the research made. It is believed that with their heavy workload the rural kindergarten teachers in Rudong County are not quite satisfied with their salary. They themselves do not think they have a high position in society. It is considered to be very far from the ideal status that kindergarten teachers should enjoy. They are fairly satisfied with their relationship with colleagues, the management of their kindergarten and their career as a kindergarten teacher. They can experience a sense of achievement and the joy of success in work. Though enjoying their work, they do not have a very strong desire to continue working as a kindergarten teacher. It is also believed that the importance attached to their work by the local government, the reform of kindergarten education system, parents' attitudes, employment requirements and self-expectations of kindergarten teachers are all the important factors affecting the living situation of the teachers in rural civilian-run kindergartens.
