《Basic Education Curriculum Reform(Trial)》clearly points out that"To transfer the curriculum assessment's function of laying too much emphasis on screening and selection to the development of students, teachers'growth and teaching practice improvement."which lays a direction for the educational evaluation of the new curriculum reform. How to establish an education evaluation system, which can adapt to the new curriculum reform needs, in line with the requirements of quality education, to promote the development of students, teachers growth as well as improving quality of school education, has become an important task for the new curriculum reform. To improve the evaluation of information technology for high school students means improving the study and developing their good information quality, to promote the comprehensive development of students. Information Technology Education is the ultimate control of the information so that those who receive the education can have access to information, the use of information and information cultivation in the information society. Senior high school is the advanced stage of basic education which directly affects our citizens information literacy. Dovetailed with the nine-year compulsory education curriculum, the senior high information technology courses undertake the task of enhancing the students'information literacy and preparing qualified citizens of the Information age. Construction of high school information technology courses is to meet the needs of improving the comprehensive quality of the citizens and preparing us for the international competition in the Information Age. It is also required by China's economic construction and social development.Based on the background of the basic education curriculum reform, this essay focuses on the senior high information technology study assessment, in the hope of improving information technology study through the assessment, which in turn will promote the development of IT curriculum.The essay consists of four chapters. Chapter 1 outlines the development of China's information technology education, makes in-depth investigation and analysis on the historical development and the present situation of the senior high IT curriculum assessment. And reconsiders the existing information technology teaching. Chapter 2 raises eight principles for assessment, based on the general assessment function—guidance, supervision & inspection, incentive, and diagnosis & improvement, also in combination with the main modern teaching assessment theories—Constructivism, Multiple Intelligences as well as the feature of information technology curriculum and the assessment proposals from the New Curriculum Standard. Chapter 3 and Chapter 4 discusses in detail the processes of planning, implementation and feedback on how to improve the senior high information technology study assessment, including the assessment planning steps, the implementation procedure of selective-response, constructive-response and performances assessment, and the processing method and way of feedback about the study assessment results. Chapter 5 summarizes the results of the study, analyzes the existing problems in the study, and puts forward the next step in the research project.
