It's difficult for us to radically change the current education situation and fully realize the educational philosophy of the new course by using the traditional teaching methods as the course reform deepens continuously. The traditional course "Algorithm and program design" used in senior high school overemphasizes the teaching of program syntax and lacks in arousing the interest of the students in programing .It doesn't pay enough attention to improving students' programing abilities or making them think creatively.In this paper, according to Benjamin Bloom's teaching objective classification,with questions raised from the simple ones to the complicated ones and in the spirit of game teaching , we try to design four teaching-through-game modes—Skill and operation mode, enquiry mode, collaborative virtual mode and simulation and competition mode and give the corresponding case analyses combined with the content in the teaching material "Algorithm and program design".By introducing the teaching-through-game idea ,we can make the teaching process full of fun and motivations so as to cultivate students' abilities in initiative,activity and creativity.This is a probe into the existing teaching mode and we try to bring all the teachers some new thoughts and enlightment. I also hope it can promote the variety of the course research and bring some new ideas to the course reform.
