Confucian Moral Thought Revelation Of Contemporary Ideological And Political Education

The Chinese people, through civilization development of five thousand years, have deposited many moral values that stood the trial of history. Among them are many moral values advocated by the Confucianists, which is a great contribution in enriching moral life of all Chinese people and cultivating their descendents'noble sentiment of becoming a person, and is of enormous humanities spirits value. Nevertheless, with the rapid development of modern society, western cultures begin to permeate, especially when socialist market system is established, the diversity of market economy factors lead into moral and value diversification. Money worship, individualism and hedonism corrupt many minds and traditional moral values of Chinese nation and socialist moral education are severely challenged in an unprecedented way.In recent years, though higher education in our country have made rapid progress in its scale, there are certain issues concerning ideas, content and methods, management and operation in college students'ideological and political education, where the Confucianists advocated selfless spirit, unceasingly striving, great virtue, industry and simplicity, getting the profit by the right way, loving others, valuing harmony and holding moral integrity and other spirits education is absent. It has always been a great concern for all countries in the globe how to improve ideological and political education in higher education. To change this situation and improve contemporary college students'ideological and political education, it calls for us to combine contemporary college students'ideological and political education with traditional Chinese Confucian moral education, be committed to seeking for reasonable elements of Confucius moral education, and give full play to its values in practice. This is of great value and practical significance in helping us getting out of moral embarrassment and working well with college students'ideological and political education. This dissertation is to seek in-depth for Confucian moral education ideas. In combination with contemporary college students'practice and following these principles such as critical inheritance, creativity, permeability, complementarity and compatibility, some content and methods worth attention are proposed, which cater for core values of the Socialist, forms a main component of current socialist core value system and plays an active role in improving ideological and political education in higher education.
