From the value orientation angel, this research is based on the theory of the sociology of curriculum. compared with the Pep and Su Jiao Ban on context of Chinese books in New Curriculum Reform, this research discuss the basic characteristic of Chinese textbooks in value orientation and the reasons behind the Chinese textbooks.The research is divided into five parts:Chapter one is the introduction. This part mostly states the research of the origins, significance of the study and research methods, and the study of basic research ideas and research framework.Chapter two is the summary of the distribution. This part mainly has related concepts of the study to define, sort and summarize the relevant study of domestic and foreign scholars about textbooks, as well as the status quo of domestic research studies.Chapter three is Chinese Textbooks: An expression of cultural value orientation. In this part, I believe that Chinese books is the kind of culture which regards literature as a carrier,but not all cultures can be reflected in the Chinese textbooks, only which is an expression of cultural value orientation.Chapter four is the comparative study of value orientation on the Chinese textbooks of PEP and Su Jiao Ban. In this part, this research will analyze a comparative study of Chinese textbooks from the external value orientation and internal value orientation,and obtain their basic characteristics and personality characteristics of the value orientation, and then discuss the underlying reasons.Chapter five is the conclusion. Above the part of PEP and Su Jiao ban language textbooks in comparative analysis, this study makes a conclusion that, in its values, Chinese textbooks have following characteristics: enhancing ancient culture, weakening of contemporary culture; being also very great importance to a culture of human nature and tradition; being still very great importance to a culture about patriotic emotion,environmental and life consciousness. To foster good personal qualities of culture in Chinese textbooks should be strengthened. And on this basis, this research will look to the development of Chinese textbook.
