Library and Information science journals, being a window of the academic argument and communication, promote the development of the library and information science. Five-years protection period after China's entrance into WTO has been over. With the publishing market completely opened, the periodical industry has to face the problem how to survive confronting the competition of the foreign capitals. The development of the library and information science journals is impeded by its dependence, planned economic system running model, small scale, dispersive management. No one among dozens of the library and information journals has been embodied into the SCI and SSCI. So it's urgent and important to research how the library and information science journals develop sustainingly.The main contents of this thesis are:Firstly, this thesis states the current environmental elements of the library and information science journals, that is, the China's entrance into WTO, the development of library and information science, the springing-up of Open Access.Secondly, it analyzes the status quo of the library and information science journals: (1) the introduction of the journals' basic condition about quantity , distribution , authorized organization, etc; (2) the quantitative analysis about Bibliometric indexes, such as impact factor, total citations, immediacy index, h-index ,etc, based on China science periodical integration citation report ;(3) the analysis of journals'website building ; (4) the analysis of main running model-------advertisement, the type of issuing, joint publishing, supplement publishing, the learning seminar.Thirdly, it discusses the development strategies of the library and information science journals. This part analyzes the contradiction between journals' academic effect and economic effect. Then, it puts forward four feasible development strategies: strengthening academic standardization to foster exquisite journals; emphasizing website construction to accelerate modern journals; stressing market subdivision to create characteristic journals; combining resources to realize scale-rization.
