High-speed pulse generator which is an important test equipment in the electronic testing and motivation, has wide significance in the ultra-wideband communication, radar detection, and other fields. As the importance for the development of the electronics industry, the domestic research and development of High-speed pulse generator become very urgent.With the continuous improvement of frequency, the harmonic frequency of pulse signal has already reach the domain of Radiofrequency or microwave. The new pulse generator program puts forward higher requirements on the design work of reliability. Reliability Design exists in every aspect of design of pulse generator, from the functional aspect to the environment. Only processing system itself and environmental factors can designers ensure reliable operation of pulse generator.According to the unique characteristics of reliability design, the pulse generator's pulse program is discussed in the paper, and then the sub-module of pulse generatoras such as embedded systems, application software, power supply, pulse channels and structure is analysed. The reliability index of the pulse generator is calculated based on its features and functions targets.To achieve the reliability targets of pulse generator, the model of the system is established in this paper. And then reliability allocation based on fuzzy reliability design is achieved, and finally assigned system reliability to the various sub-modules reasonably. After considering the working characteristics of the system, Reliability Prediction is processed based on Stress-Analysis-method and the result verified the reliability of the design right from the other direction.To improve the reliability of pulse generator in the actual design process, the simulation and improvements on the circuit and system is processed in this paper, including system electromagnetic compatibility, thermal environment, and the structure of the resistance to environmental design. Implementation methods including reducing the amount of design, tolerance design, mask filter, duct design, corrosion and vibration design.Reliability test is also one of the important work of the reliability design. The basic knowledge of reliability test is introduced in this paper, environmental stress screening test and aging test is then proposed, and and finally the system reliability growth is analysised and calculated based on AMSAA model.The results of system reliability experiments show that the design program proposed in this paper can meet relevant standards for state's military test equipment and it's reliabile performance reaches the international advanced level ranks, and finially accepted by military units.
