In ocean engineering, mooring system is the important component element of the floating structures. The structure is fixed at the seabed by the mooring line. The value of mooring line tensile force is an important factor to mooring system design and safety and normal work of mooring floating bodies. If design of the tension is not accurate, it may be disastrous to engineering. Currently, appropriate method is field test and model test. In the exiting mooring line tensile force test of physical model experiment, the normal way is to install an sensor at the end of mooring line, but which can only test the tension of the end of the mooring line. Till now there is no mature testing way to test the distribution of the tension in the mooring line. Therefore, it is necessary to research the testing technique of the distribution of mooring line. This text based on Fiber Bragg Grating test technique and via the high molecular material coating to the optical fiber those was cut Bragg grating, and developed the experimental simulation mooring line, then realizes the Mooring test of dynamic tension distribution. In this text, many material was used to test. And at last the LDPE was coated at the fiber Bragg grating. The simulation mooring lines which were cared three Bragg grating and one Bragg grating was used in buoy and JACK-UP simulation test system. The result of former was analyzed and verified the new technique could realize test the distributed tension. In the test of Jack-up, the line tension was tested by tensile sensor and the fiber Bragg grating at the same time. The result is uniform. Furthermore, the later is more exact than sensor. This technology overcomes force sensor volume weight and excessive mooring hydrodynamic, which is hopeful to test cable tension in various environment, also as a new testing method has the broad application prospect.
