Time-frequency analysis is time-varying non-stationary signals today a powerful tool in modern signal processing of a hotspot. Seismic exploration in the seismic signal is received a non-stationary signals, time-frequency analysis method provides the time domain and frequency domain joint segment information, clear signals for us to show the frequency of seismic changes in the relationship over time. This paper describes the system concept of time-frequency analysis, the nature of the concept of instantaneous parameters and classification used is also given in the form of video conversion, such as: short time Fourier transform, Wigner-Ville distribution, wavelet transform, Hilbert transform, S transform, and by studying the comparative analysis of the pros and cons of doing some preliminary analysis. Application of the generalized S transform in seismic data processing to do a more in-depth study, through computer simulation, the south slope of the stone Paleogene regional seismic data processing to do the application. Achieved very good results, that for non-stationary signals, the generalized S-transform has more advantages than other transforms. Generalized S-transform of which make up a good signal analysis with wavelet transform the frequency of the time lost less than intuitive, not only shows the characteristics of multi-resolution, but also the time - the relationship between frequency of visually manifested in the time-frequency, so more convenient for signal processing. At the same time not only has the generalized S-transform of multi-scale focus, but also directly correspond to the various frequency components, this is it with the Fourier transform, short time Fourier transform and wavelet transform the fundamental difference. Changes in the function of the window to identify the target according to the actual needs the flexibility to choose the body, but it is still limited by the uncertainty principle, in the application, select the parameters to take into account the time and frequency resolution. There are generalized S transform computation efficiency is greatly improved, which is the generalized S-transform and Fourier transform directly linked to the characteristics of the decision. Also in the real seismic data processing on a single channel and multichannel data analysis indicate that the generalized S-transform time-frequency distribution can play a unique advantage, so that the feature extraction and recognition of information to higher purpose and targeted for further seismic data processing and interpretation to provide a reliable basis. South slope of work area due to the stone is the impact of marine seismic survey in the continental exploration is not for research.
