Hujiashan area is located in the middle of Ordos Basin. Chang6 oil-bearing member is the one of main pay beds, which characters include the different thickness of sand body, poor physical property and complex oil-water relation. The study uses sequence stratigraphy theory to divide and contrast sedimentary system in Chang6 oil-bearing member. On that basis, depositional provenance and sedimentary facies are studied orderly in Chang6 oil-bearing member. Reservoir development characteristic is analysed on stratum grillwork. Finally, the influence of tectonic movement and sedimentary evolution to the reservoir are explored.According to the ways of log facies and high resolution sequence stratigraphy analysis, we divide the Chan6 oil-bearing member into 1 long-term stratigraphic base level cycle, 3 stratigraphic base level cycle and 10 short-term stratigraphic base level cycle, and describe detailedly the structure types of medium-term and short-term of delta layer, overlying styles and distribution laws in Chan6 oil-bearing member. According to the core observation, we recognize sedimentary construction of seismites which include seismic fissure, seismic corrugated rock, adder shape fault and ball– pillow construction, and establish sedimentary sequence of seismites at the first. On the base of the combination of heavy mineral characteristics and other material, it is showed that Chan6 oil-bearing member controlled by northern, eastern and northwest provenance. Northern and eastern provenances are the most important. Chan6 oil-bearing member develops delta-lake sedimentary system, including delta, turbidite fan, and lake. Reservoir develops in the delta plain facies and delta front facies. We draw the distribution of sedimentary facies qualitatively according to the advantage, and draw the main sedimentary facies quantitatively according to the isoline of layer and sand body. Base on the two charts, we reconstruct the distribution of lithofacies and paleogeography in different periods. We choose IV sequence cycle and draw the sequence-lithofacies-paleogeography chart according to the rising and falling base level phases in Chang6 oil-bearing member.
