With the rapid development of navigating technique and space technology, outdoor routing technology has got fully development and application, and vehicular navigation system and mobile navigation platform is playing important roles in people's daily life. Those who equipped with the devices are allowed to walk or travel around the complicated streets easily and effectively. However, it's not convenient to reach the certain destination in many unfamiliar shopping malls, mansions or buildings. People may get lost in buildings with complex -designed structure. Consequently, business and scholars in academic institutions have showed great concerns over ndoor navigation to help people to find a specific person or goal quickly in a complicated unfamiliar indoor environment. This paper aims at providing users with an effective routing method for users within buildings by studying indoor route planning especially in multilevel buildings. The main contents and results of the study are as follows:(1) Studying building plans and three-dimensional route model of a building.By comparing and analyzing to the current building plans, housing geographical spatial data is determined in this paper. Three-dimensional route model of a building is presented, with particular emphasis on its design procedures and characters, and the model is a weighted graph consist of nodes and edges.(2) Studying approaches on three-dimensional route model construction process and storage method. The construction process of three-dimensional route model of a building are elaborated in this paper, including extracting hallway route, adding room nodes, and the whole solution for constructing the model. Then by comparing the storage structures of graph, the storage method of this model is designed based on adjacent table, and parts of the data structure are given.(3) Studying path planning methods. First of all, by comparison, the shortest path algorithm (Dijkstra) is chosen, and the process of path planning is introduced. The concept of "channel equivalent length" is introduced for the problem of evacuation. Then, the connection methods between the model and data from smatr smoke sensors is elaborated in detail. On this basis, the best method for deciding evacuation route is proposed, and the calculation method of control evacuation theory time is illustrated. (4) Studying methods and techniques on prototype system designe and development. In order to ensure the validity of this paper's thought, technology and method, this paper includes how to analyze and choose proper data to design and develop prototype system in terms of above research achievements by the way of experiments. This study can be used either for indoor intelligent navigation, building automation control, or for the decision-making on making emergency personnel evacuation plan of the densely populated place, or for the urban planning structure design's reference. This paper has a clear pertinence and a practical significance.
