Seismic exploration is one of the essential techniques to search energy resources such as oil, natural gas and coal. In recent years, the newly developed three-dimensional (3D) and three-component seismic method has become an important direction because of its characters in low costs and completed records. Meanwhile, many three-dimensional imaging methods have been suggested correspondingly. One of examples is the CDP using P wave dip and CCP based on PS wave dip proposed by Prof. Yao Chen, which can capture the real position of reflection in theory. However, it has been the problem to be studied which the software technology with real data for these two approaches. This work attempts to provide a technological support to the theory above. It has developed a data processing system for 3D seismic exploration under the Windows system. Compared with other mature commercial software run on the UNIX work station, this new system is easier to accept for users. It has a friend interface for system, so that not only flood data can be displayed rapidly, but also the shown seismic information is complete. Meanwhile, it can facilitate horizon picking up by man-machine interaction and automatic tracing and picking up. Consequently, the working quantity of the user is lowered and subjective errors from different processors are reduced. Besides, the pickup of stacked velocity carried out alternatively on three windows is very convenient and accurate. This new system has the primary functions for data processing in seismic exploration, such as surface wave suppression, noise removal, track equilibrium, gather extraction, dynamic correction and stacking. It has preliminarily realized stack imaging for the CDP method based on 3D P wave dip and CCP method based on PS wave dip. Compared with the previous imaging methods, this new technique has a better accuracy and higher signal to noise ratio. Thus it also proves that the theory, to which this software supports, is correct. And it would be helpful to development of the new theory of 3D seismic exploration. The software developed in this work has applied to the data processing of a 2D shallow seismic exploration conducted in the Dai county, Shanxi Province as a part of the project of active fault surveys in cities, and resulted in 2D stacked profiles. It has been demonstrated that this system is effective and applicable.
