Solar simulator is such an equipment that lamp light is used for simulating sunlight. By different light source characteristics analysis of solar simulator, we design and realized a dual light source solar simulator, and present the initial optical design of two special solar simulator. Finaly, we study series resistance of solar cells and its extraction method based on single pulsed solar simulator.The content of this paper can be divided to 4 parts:①Different light sources and its influences on solar simulator design, Chapter 2;②Design of Large-area dual sources Steady-State solar simulator for light soaking and hot sopt test, Chapter 3;③Initial optical design of two special solar simulator, Chapter 4;④Series resistance of solar cells and its extraction method for single pulsed solar simulator, Chapter 5;In the first part, we summarized characteristics of different sources solar simulator, we present the discharge character, irradiance spectrum, shell and reflector materials of these sources, we mainly research the irradiance spectrum of different sources and its influences on solar simulator design.In the second part, Based on the requirement on light soaking test of thin film PV modules and hot spot test of PV modules , we designated a large-area steady-state dual light source solar simulator by combining long-arc steady-state xenon lamps with metal halide lamps after studying the spectrum. We achieved: irradiance intensity adjusting from 600 to 1000W/m2, spectral match (Class C), non-uniformity of irradiance(Class B) and irradiance instability (Class A)on the effective irradiance area of 1.2m×2m respectly.In the third part, we researched two special solar simulator.①Solar simulator for HCPV (High Concentrated Photovoltaic) moudles: we studied the relationship between HCPV Moudle Character and incident angular of Solar, we got the special requirement of HCPV solar simulator; By simulation in Tracepro,we got that spot source is more suitable for colimitated comparing with Linear source。②LED (Light Emitting Doide) solar simulator: we study spectrum Distribution by Guess Fitting , study irradiance Distribution Lambert source .In the fourth part, we mainly researched how to measure the series resistance quickly and accurately, which should be resolved in the industry, especially when the series resistance of high efficient solar cells is smaller than 10mOhm (milli-ohmic). This paper presents a modified slope of the I-V curve at open circuit (slope method) method to determine the series resistance of solar cells and compares it with three other methods in the method of using Lambert'W function to explicit the relationship of current-voltage of solar cells. Then, we verify the simulated results experimentally and give some theoretical explanation. And especially , we point out the reason why the data from current simulator test is large. All the analysis led to the conclusion that: With convenient, reliable, and small non-repetitive features, slope method stands out among those four methods to extract series resistance for the solar simulator.
