With rapid social economic development and sharp increasing energy demand, human increase the development of renewable energy in recent years. Offshore wind energy is developed vigorously, as it is more about 3 to 5 times than onshore wind energy and doesn't need land. As we known, the pile foundation design for offshore wind power development is an important part of ocean wind development. Pile foundation is a traditional foundation, and the large diameter pile foundations are used more common as the generated output of wind driven generator is increasing.Firstly, the paper reviews the development and research of offshore wind power on domestic and oversea, meanwhile it introduces advantages and disadvantages of the variety foundation for offshore wind power and design theory and analysis methods of pile foundation.Secondly, the paper makes further research on the axial bearing capacity of large pile foundation, and introduces the axial load transfer principle of pile foundation and wrecking mode. Then used the finite element software ABAQUS for axial load performance analysis of large diameter pile foundation.Thirdly, the paper makes research on horizontal bearing capacity of large diameter pile foundation. Then introduces the horizontal load and the methods of calculating horizontal load and horizontal bearing capacity, and paper introduces the p-y curves method. Then used the finite element software ABAQUS for axial load performance analysis of large diameter pile foundation. At last used the finite element analysis calculated the impact on the horizontal bearing capacity of the various factorsFinally, the paper designed a large diameter steel pipe pile foundation of offshore wind by available data. Then verify its stability of pile foundation on normal operating conditions and limit conditions. In order to ensure no risk of resonance when it works, it made a overall structure of the modal analysis.Paper wants to provide some ideas of designing offshore wind power pile foundation by the study of horizontal and axial bearing capacity of pile foundation. At last this paper can have some effective on development of offshore wind power.
