The optically pumped magnetometer is based on the element atom energy level's Zeeman effect in the magnetic field, made with optical pumping action and the magnetic resonance technology. And by now, because the alkali optical pumping magnetometers's extremely high sensitivity, they are arousing great interest among magnetometers. If there is an angle between the light path and the magnetic field, in the optical pumping magnetometer, the resonance signal strength will change with the angle(known as the angular dependence of the resonance signal). The angle measuring device based on this principle already obtained the practical application. The paper based on the theories of quantum physics and atomic physics, through establish the relation between the magnetic sub-level rate equation and the light intensity, the angular dependence of the resonance signal was discussed, and the extreme point of the function were derived by means of the maximum principle. Besides all, simulation curve of the function is obtained by the MATHCAD software. Through these simulated curves, the relationship between the resonance signal and pumping light intensity, the relaxation time as well as the density of rubidium vapor is also did a detailed analysis. Through the magnetic measurement experiment in the case of angle changes, the corresponding test data is shown in this paper. In data processing, the curve of the fitting experiment datas which was given by the Origin software, is highly similar to the simulation curves. Therefore, the experimental results validates the correctness of the theoretical analysisIn this paper, we obtain the function of the angular dependence of resonance signal and determine the best pumping incidence angle when rubidium optical pumping magnetometer is used as a magnetic measuring equipment. Studying the angular dependence plays a vital role for improving the SNR, sensitivity, miniaturization and digitalization of the instrument, and provides a theoretical basis for the angle measuring device research and the posture correction of optical pumping magnetometer. On the basis of our study, the key technology of the postu-re correction will get a new breakthrough.
