As fresh water crisis emerges, people all around the world put their eye on the seawater desalination.. " Asking the ocean for freshwater", has become a common choice in many areas, which means seawater desalination is an important way to solve the problem of freshwater. At present, our country has mastered reverse osmosis seawater desalination technology, and put it into application in some cities and areas, obtaining certain achievements. But the energy recovery technology develops slowly, which has become the bottleneck to reducing desalination cost,r and that's also the major reason that reverse osmosis seawater desalination method has not been widely implemented. Therefore(font), in order to meet the requirements of modern industry for saving energy, pressure technology and device of energy recovery in reverse osmosis desalination field has a good application prospect. At present, in the field of reverse osmosis seawater desalination our country is applications highly dependent on foreign import for energy recovery devices, that makes seawater desalination to much in our country cost.we Developing pressure energy recovery device with independent intellectual property rights will bring our countryconsiderable economic benefit and social benefit. This paper bases on the background of the reverse osmosis desalination. The process of energy transfer in the pressure exchanger is simulated using FLUENT software, and the main work is as follows:1. Introduction of the theory for simulation of the the rotary pressure exchanger;2. Design of the rotary pressure exchanger's main structure;3. Modeling of the rotary pressure exchanger main structure, and the simulation of working process;4. Optimization design of the structure according to the simulation. The rotary pressure exchanger based on positive displacement principle is the most widely used energy recovery device in the field of reverse osmosis desalination, and its deep study has great significance.
