China has long been a big agricultural country, land is the most important natural resources. But with the desertification, urbanization and industrialization have accelerated greatly, amount of cultivated land has been dropped. Faced with this situation, we should actively promote the economical use of land-intensive, so as to ensure economic and social sustainable development. Therefore, the intensive use of urban land has become an important issue at present.Goal of this study in Chengdu central area was based on data from the evaluation to the database, make full use of GIS in the types of data integration, query statistics, spatial analysis and visualization of expression subject advantages to carry out urban land using the potential of evaluation. Geographic Information System (GIS) is a computer hardware, software and system composed of different methods, the system designed to support spatial data collection, management, processing, analysis, modeling and display in order to solve complex planning and management issues. This article users the GIS spatial overlay analysis, metadata, database, WebMap, OpenLayer and three-dimensional GIS technology to design and achieve this intensive use of urban land evaluation system. Urban land use intensity index calculation provides data intelligent extraction, dynamic management index system, any calculation of the regional intensity and three-dimensional positioning browsing. These features intensive use of the land to provide a more comprehensive decision support for improving the economical and intensive land use has played a significant role in promoting.
