This article takes Shuanghe copper deposit as the research object in Shuizhu township, Yongshan county, Zhaotong city, Yunnan Province. The research purpose is generalizing the structural control of ore characteristics and finding the prospective area treated as the direction of the exploration work on the next step.The first, the author collected the previous geological data to understand the geological background of the area; The second, the author learned more about the geological conditions of the area by a long period of field research. At the same time, the author collected a lot of the rock and ore simples which were used for testing geochemical data and polishing slices or rays. At last, the author analyzed the geological and geochemical data by using the mathematical software to get the following results:1. The geochemical characteristics of the magmatic rock in the mining area:The analysis shows that under the basalt rock chemical data, mining area basalts has the characteristics of continental alkali basalt; By using SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Science) mathematical and statistical software to analyze the trace element in the rock near the fractures, we can see the ore-forming element-Cu should came from the Emeishan basalt in the mining area.2. The characteristics of the regional volcanic orifice:The Author determined the location of the volcanic orifice by analyzing the regional volcanism characteristics.3. The ore-controlling characteristics(1) Shuanghe copper deposit was controlled by the strata (T1f) and fracture;(2) Structural control of ore characteristics from the macro-micro can be summarized as follows structural control of ore system: Regional tectonic system-regional fault zone-secondary faults-the fractured zone between layers-the veinlet-like structure-disseminated structure of the ore.4. Structural Control of Ore characteristics are as follows:(1)The points of copper within the region are controlled by the NE-trending folds and fracture;(2)Mine fracture characteristics and its relationship with the ore body, suggests that the F1fault is the major controlling faults in the mining area, it is both a guide ore-the ore structure, which formed in and before mineralizing, the F2fracture is a tectonic which formed after mineralizing.(3) Rock porosity affected mineralizing of the depoit.5. The Shuanghe copper deposit types and metallogenic model:(1) Shuanghe copper deposit has a stratabound deposit and gas-water hydrothermal deposit characteristics;(2)The northeast fault is ore guiding and ore-hosting structure. The hydrothermal passed the northeast fault and extracted the ore-forming elements. The hydrothermal which contained the ore-forming elements formed the copper mineral when it reached the basalt overlying sandstone.6. The delineation of the prospective area:The author summed up the prospecting criteria by analyzing the ore-controlling characteristics of Shuanghe copper deposit and the characteristics of the regional volcanic edifice."Shuangxuan" area was delineated for the prospective area.
