| With the development of construction industry, more and more people pay attention to the environmental pressures caused by the industry. During the whole life of the building, it has consumed lots of building materials and energies, which would create a mass of environmental pollutions, i.e., air pollution, water pollution, solid waste pollution, and so on. In order to analyze the environmental effects caused by buildings, we can see the building as a kind of special products, and introducing the life cycle assessment method to evaluate the environmental effects caused by the building. The method of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is one kind of effective environmental management tools, which is mainly used to appraise the entire life cycle environmental effects, including raw material excavation, manufacturing, using, and final disposal. At first, we need to distinguish the resource consumption, the energy consumption and the environmental pollutions. Then the environmental impacts of these consumptions and pollutions need to be evaluated. And we may search for improvement measures to decrease or eliminate these effects. The ISO14040 divides the implementation of LCA into four parts: definition of goal and scope, inventory analysis, influence appraisal and final explains. And the inventory analysis and influence appraisal are the more important parts of LCA.In this paper, we mainly use LCA to analyze the environmental impacts of the building of Suzhou moon bay international center (100m2). In the evaluating processes, the whole life includes 5 units, which include the stage of building materials preparation, the stage of construction, the stage of operation (running for 50 years), the stage of demolition and the stage of waste disposal. We use the software of AIST-LCA Ver.2, which is developed by LCA Research Center AIST in Japan, to evaluate the environmental impacts caused by the building. The result is that the environmental impacts regenerated in the stages of operation and building materials preparing are larger, and the less are the stages of waste disposal and demolition. The environmental impact in the phase of construction is the smallest. The most influential influence types of environmental impacts are urban air pollution, eutrophication and global warming. We also use the software of AIST-LCA Ver.2 to evaluate the environmental impacts of another multi-storey building in Suzhou. From the LCA evaluating results, we can see that the Eco-index Yen of the tall building is higher than that of multi-storey building, i.e., the environmental impacts of the multi-storey building is smaller. At last, we analyze the differences in the aspects of energy consumption and land using for the two buildings. The main goal of this thesis is to evaluate the environmental impacts in the whole life of buildings. Seeking for the starting point of improving the production technology and realistic basis of carrying out the ecological design, recommend green building materials and improve the recovery utilization ratio of the constructional rubbish to improve the environmental performance of the products of the building. |
