| It is well known that a lot of ultraviolet (UV) radiation not only causes rapid aging of polymer materials and shortens their life, but also brings great harm to human body. Therefore, how to reduce the influence of UV radiation on human life and protect the body from excessive UV radiation have become a research hotspot.Benzophenones are one kind of the most promising UV absorbers for properties such as good compatibility and a wide range of effective wavelength absorption, etc. But such materials have the shortcoming of water-solubility. Fabrics treated by the formaldehyde-free quaternary poly-cationic fixing agent have better rubbing fastness and washing fastness, and so on. But their light fastness still needs to be improved. For this reason, the study of multi-functional textile fixing agent is currently a pressing problem. Based on the above mentioned idea, this paper designed a new series of fixing agents containing benzophenones which can absorb UV radiation and have good fixing performance for the presence of poly-cationic groups.Main contents of this paper include: (1) N,N-dimethyl allyl p-benzoyl benzyl ammonium bromide were firstly designed and synthesized, and then six unreported quaternary poly-cationic fixing agents containing UV-absorbing functional groups were synthesized. (2) Chemical structures of the agents were characterized by the 1H NMR and IR. (3) These fixing agents of UV-vis absorption properties were studied through UV spectrometer. (4) Fixing performance of quaternary poly-cationic fixing agents containing UV-absorbing functional groups for reactive dyes and direct dyes in the dyeing process of cotton fiber were investigated under different conditions (such as different amounts of fixing agent, baking temperatures, pH values of fixing solution, fixing temperatures, and fixing times, and so on).The results indicated:(1) The synthetic fixing agents did not contain formaldehyde, and had a good absorption band at the range from 200 nm to 315 nm, which confirmed us that the quaternary poly-cationic compounds have a better UV absorption function.(2) The synthetic quaternary poly-cationic fixing agent(6) had good fixing effects on fabrics dyed with reactive dyes, the dry rubbing fastness was up to grade 4~5, the wet rubbing fastness reached grade 4, they have no effect on fabric handle and shade.(3) The synthetic quaternary poly-cationic fixing agent(6) had good fixing effects on fabrics dyed with direct dyes, the dry rubbing fastness was up to grade 4~5, the wet rubbing fastness reached grade 3~4, they have no effect on fabric handle and shade. |
