A strain which was good at removing both ammonia and nitrate nitrogen, was separated from the wild sludge samples by traditional flat-panel separation technology, named H8. It was identified as Pseudomonas putida via physiological and biochemical identification. H8's growth characteristics and the denitrification effects going with time were determined. And varying carbon sources, temperature, pH coupled with rotating speeds of cradle were investigated to optimize conditions for nitrogen removal. In addition, the denitrification of the strain H8 in the artificial wastewater was studied by bench-scale testing.The results showed that the training time of the strain H8 in heterotrophic nitrification medium and aerobic denitrification medium were 9 hours and 21 hours respectively; the strain H8 performed better denitrification effect with succinic acid sodium as the unique carbon source, the temperature 30℃, pH 8.5, cardle rotating speed 150rpm, C/N 11;with the increasing of the nitrogen in medium, the accumulation of nitrate nitrogen climbed up and strain's denitrification efficiency decreased while the denitrification rate accelerated at a certain degree. The strain had some TIN removal of the artificial wastewater AWW(1-3) in the optimized conditions, the TIN removal rate is 33%, 78%, 77% respectively after 48 hours degradation different levels of nitrite nitrogen accumulated in the medium during the degradation process.
