Thermoelectric materials is named temperature battery material, which can convert thermal energy directly to electric energy and vice versa. It is a kind of novel functional material which can primarily be used in refrigeration and power generation. As an early studied TE material and a typical representative of VA-VIA chemical compounds, Bi2Te3 was early and mature TE material, which is widely applied in the room temperature rang with a well thermoelectric properties. It has very attractive research value.In this paper, VA-VIA nano-thermoelectric material was synthesized by hydrothermal route. The samples were systematically characterized by FESEM, TEM, XRD, FTIR, TG-DSC. Through changing the reaction conditions, such as reducing agent and reaction time, to discuss the influence on morphology of nanoparticles and preliminary discuss the formation mechanism of the nanoparticles. Such as the fishbone structure Bi2Te3 and flower structure. These nanoparticles emerges a good size uniformity and morphology with a size of dozens micron.In addition, the sample properties were characterized by the thermoelectric instruments, including Seebeck coefficient and thermal conductivity, these nanoparticles shown good thermoelectric properties.
