At present, the medical sewage disinfection processing still uses the chlorine dioxide. Its delivery must be suitable, if not, which also can cause the second pollution, so the emission of the chlorine concentration must be strictly controlled. It is the very significance to accurately detect the chlorine concentration in the real-time. At present, in a variety of the detection methods, the spectral absorption is one of the most advanced methods which are widely used. The detection method is widely used in many fields.This paper introduces the background of the topic, many common detection methods of residual chlorine, the detection principle of spectral absorption, and the application fields. The paper mainly introduces the application of the spectrum absorption method which on-line detects the chlorine concentration in waste water, then the general design of the detection optical path. And also introduces that how to use the photoelectric detection technology for the detection of weak signal and the design of hardware and software of the related system. Describe how to apply control chip to complete the data acquisition, processing, transmission and display function. In view of the residuum in the pipe wall affects the measurement result with most residual chlorine continuously measurement, which designs a corresponding reposition system and detects data processing and simulates by regression analysis. The design proved the small errors by the experiment, satisfied the requirements of the project.
