Coal Topping is one type of cogeneration technology with pyrolysis as its core process. On the condition of atmospheric pressure, middle or low temperature, and without catalyzer or hydrogen, it can relatively easy to cogenerate oil, gas, heat and electric power with low cost. Meanwhile, the products of it are of high-added value, and have huge market demand, so Coal Topping can greatly increase the value of coal.Based on Aspen Plus, a process model of Coal Topping with a 130t/h Circulating Fluidized Bed boiler is established to analysis the balance of energy and material, and also, economical performance of the system. Details are as follows: First, a two-dimensional combustion model for Circulating Fluidized Bed boiler is coupled into Aspen Plus process model based on the FORTRAN language. And the reliability of model is verified by comparison of coal combustion theoretical calculations with simulation results.Second, the distribution of pyrolysis products at different pyrolysis temperature of three typical coals in Yilan Xian is obtained during the pilot coal topping experiment, which treats 2.5kg/h of fuel. And based on the results, a pyrolysis process model is established. And then, the model of cooling and separation of pyrolysis gas is established, according to Vapor-Liquid equilibrium principle. And the optimal temperature of mixture of cooling water and pyrolysis products is obtained. Finally, the overall Coal Topping system process model is formed by these three modules, and energy and material balance of the system of aforementioned three coals is calculated and analyzed. Also, the system's economic performance is investigated by Economic Analysis, include break-even analysis and sensitivity analysis of different factors which could influence the economic performance.
