Aquatic plants as an important regulator of the lake ecosystem, play an important role infixing sediment,preventing sediment resuspension,water purification and so on. This paperchosed Elodea algae and reed according to the Taihu aquatic plant community distributioncharacteristics, using the sediment resuspension simulator, simulating the Taihu Lake sedimentresuspensioncharacteristics and phosphorus migration mechanisms under different hydrodynamicand population densities of aquatic plants. Research results revealed that aquatic plants haveimportant influence on sediment resuspension process and migration process of phosphorus inthe sediment-water interface.The results showed that storms and other external disturbances sediments of shallow lakeshave a great impact on the resuspension process. The suspended solids concentration of theoverlying water increased with the greater external force. Plant control suspended solidsconcentration increase over time was significantly less than the no plant control. Inhibition onsediment resuspension of emergent Phragmites was significantly greater than the submergedplant Elodea. With the aquatic plant population density increases, the inhibition effect ofsediment resuspension was more obvious.The overlying water TP concentration rised with the storm force increasing in the waterwithout aquatic plants. The TP chroma difference corresponding to the size of the force in thewater without aquatic plants was more clear than in the water with aquatic plants. Phosphateconcentration and BAP concentration had no apparent correlation with the size of an outsideforce.The TP concentration in the overlying water slow down with the aquatic plant populationdensity increased and slow rising when the density increased to a certain degree.The phosphate, BAP without plants, have no relevant with shear stress and externaldisturbances time. Compared with different forms of phosphorus concentration, overlying watertotal phosphorus significantly higher than phosphates, BAP phosphate of general prep above also.BAP and phosphate decreased with plant density ratio increasing and increased with of shearstress enhance.
