Nano technology, nano science and nano materials is a new subject developing in 80s 20th century. A great deal of progress has been made in research of nano materials due to the unique character of nano materials. A great amount of attention has been paid to the fabrication of magnetic nanowires recently for their potential utilization in ultra-high-density magnetic recording media.In this paper, Fe7Co3 nanowires and Sm-Co nanowires has been successfully synthesized via a simple electrodeposition method. The structure and the properties of nanowires has also been analysed in the paper. The main work and conclusions are listed as below:1. AAO template was fabricated by two-step anodic oxidation method. After analyzing result the best way to fabricate the AAO template has been drew a conclusion. Alμminμm foil (99.99%) was annealed at 550℃for 5h, then two-step anodizing of alμminμm was carried out under a constant cell voltage of 40V in a 0.3M oxalic acid solution where the temperature was kept constant below 10℃is the best process to fabricate AAO template.2. A new type of magnetic material-Fe7Co3 nanowires were successfully synthesized for the first time via a simple electrodeposition method. The microstructures of nanowires were characterized. The results show that a single Fe7CO3 nanowire has bcc crystal structure which is 40nm in width with a preferred crystalface (110) during growing. The Fe7Co3 nanowire arrays have uniaxial magnetic anisotropy with easy magnetization direction along the nanowire axis due to the large shape anisotropy. It also shows that Fe7Co3 nanowire is a well soft magnetic phase compared with -Fe nanowires, It illustrates that Fe7Co3 possess higher saturation magnetization.3. The Sm-Co nanowires were electrodeposited in AAO template at room tempreture. The nanowires possess amorphous state. The atomic ratio of Sm element and Co element were analysed by EDS. It can be seen there are some nanotubes in the TEM images. After annealing there were some crystals appearing in the nanowires. The magnetic properties of nanowires were improved.
