China which is the world's largest coal consumption country is the world's largest coal mining country. There will be a large number of coal gangue remaining in the process of coal mining. The coal gangue production in China accounts for about 15wt.% of the total amount of coal mining. The accumulation of coal gangue formed huge coal gangue piles occupies lots of land and has striking influence on the neighboring environmental health, people's life and property security. The current ways of using coal gangue is mainly for tiles, paving, sintering cement. This paper utilize calcareous rocks coal gangue of Zhongliang Mountain coal mine as raw materials, blended with the coal fly ash, shale and sewage sludge to sinter ceramisite and explore the influence factors of calcareous rock gangue ceramisite properties, seeking new way of calcareous rocks coal gangue treatment.The chemical composition, mineral composition and elements of calcareous rock gangue and its auxiliary materials were analyzed in this paper. The result shows that, it can be found the optimum mixture ratio of sintering ceramisite through proper collocation of the raw materials. The content of CaO of the coal gangue used in this experiment reaches to 40.86%, and will have a negative impact on the process of sintering ceramisite.The study found that the CaO after pyrolysis of CaCO3 of the coal gangue ceramisite was easy to hydration reaction with air which would influence the performance of ceramisite such as the granule strength and water absorption. It can improve the performance of coal gangue ceramisite by adjusting the coal gangue powder size. The optimal size of Zhongliang Mountain coal gangue for sintering artificial ceramisite rangs from 109 to 150μm.Factors affecting the performance of coal gangue ceramisite include ceramic component of raw materials, ignition loss and content of CaO. Utilizing coal gangue, fly ash and shale as main materials to sinter ceramiste, fixed shale ratio as 5wt.%, the content of CaO should be less than 22.01wt.% and dry sewage sludge less than 16wt.% to enable the particle strength to 500N.The specific surface area of ceramisite is affected by gas production compositions such as gangue and sludge. The more gas production compositions, the higher specific surface area ceramisite will be.
