The stability of slope is a key factor that may constrain economic development and decide the success of safety in production. Most of our country's open-pit mines are continuously get into the stage of deep mining which formed more and more high-steep rock slope. The research on the stability of high-steep rock slope has important theory and actual significance. This article aims to monitor and forecast the development trend of open-pit mine slopes, and research on slope failure forecast, so as to eventually achieve the purpose of forecasting slope instability. More importantly, it provides engineers and technicians a new idea or method to investigate and solve practical problems.This paper combines current monitoring equipments and methods, and puts forward a reasonable solution of monitoring open-pit mine slopes, based on current monitoring systems of open-pit mine and aiming to solve the existing problems in them. The solution uses an advanced full-automatic electronic total station instrument and sets up a monitoring network on slopes of open-pit mine. Analyzes the changing of slope development trend, and thus calculates the time that the slope will possibly be destroyed by using the regression analysis model. Establishment automatically early-warning system, and get an initial application and ideal effect in the Pingzhuang western open-pit mine.
