The petroleum resource stored in Bohai sea is abundant. The output of crude oil has reached to 3×107 ton in 2010 in Bohai zone. The offshore jacket platform with storage tank as temporary oil storage facility is widely used to explore and expoit in Bohai oil field. Earthquake is the control load of offshore structures located in Bohai. Since the effect of liquid in the storage tank on the dynamic response of offshore platform subject to earthquake is remarkable, the dynamic characteristics of platform with storage tank are different from the common jacket platform. Once the platform with storage tank is destroyed, serious second disaster will take place. Therefore, it is of importance to study the interaction between tank and liquid.Firstly, considering the interaction between fluid and solid, and based on the elastic similarity and gravity similarity, the similarity relationships of model test of platform with strorage tank are established. Based on the pile and soil interaction, the model platforms simulated elastic constraint, fixed contraint and equivalent pile constraint are constructed, respectively.Secondly, considering the effects of input directions, amplitude and types of earthquake wave, dynamic tests of offshore platform with storage tank are carried out. The responses of strain, acceleration and hydrodynamic pressure are obtained with different water depth in the tank.Finally, the natural frequency and damping ratio of offshore platform with storage tank are studied. Some signifant conclusions are drawn for the platform with storage tank under earthquake.
