In recent years, with the development of industrial technology and modern science technology, more and more attention is attracted by fiber materials modification and industrial application, and becoming an important direction of the textile new product development. For synthetic fiber, the modification principle is to maintain its original excellent properties, in view of its weaknesses, to improve its wearing comfort ability and processing properties, further giving a new performance. In order to research the relationship between fiber structure and properties, the paper selects some different structure modified polyester fiber as the research object, analyzing the effects of the structure of the fiber on fiber and fabrics properties systematically.To reduce the influence of the production processing conditions, all the testing fibers are offered by YuHongJiang color on all fibre polyester Co., LTD.. Firstly, the paper researched various kinds of fiber cross-section shape, structure features and crystallinity. Secondly, analyzed the mechanical properties and moisture absorption properties of modified polyester fibers. Thirdly, for researching modified polyester wearing comfort ability, this paper chooses a representative modified fiber, blended with cotton , and designs eight woven fabrics, testing the mechanical properties, sweat exhausting performance of the fabrics. Finally, the modified fibers and knitted fabrics dyeing process were studied. This paper analyzed the wearing comfort ability and the dyeing performance from the fiber structure and content (blending ratio) , in order to provide theoretical references for modified polyester research and development and comfort fabrics design .The main conclusions are as follows:(1)Study on the structure of modified polyester fibersThis paper selects 8 different structure polyester fibers to compare and analyze. Research objects in common are polyester chip by using of the third monomer SIPE (3 - double benzene sulfonic acid sodium) and fourth monomer mpeg (polyethylene glycol) modification. Spinning, the use of muli injection machine will inject system hole agent uniform melt spinning fluid, then spinning. Fiber exterior characteristics is fiber surface are distributed the different quantity, sizes of microporous, having more linear microporous, having less oval microporous. The crystallinity of Modified polyester fibers is (20~30)% much lower than that of convention polyester (40~60)%.(2)Study on properties of the modified polyester fibersDifferent structural modification polyester intensity is in the range of (3.0~4.0) cN/dtex, modulus in (10.6~34.8) cN/dtex, both are significantly lower than routine polyester, but strength is higher than cotton, modulus is lower than cotton fiber. The resurgence of modified polyester fibers is about 1.43% ratet, significantly higher than conventional polyester fibers, and fiber surface microporous increases fiber specific surface area, improve moisture wicking performance.(3)Study on the moisture absorption and sweat release properties of Modified polyester knittedBy testing sweat exhausting performance of 8 kinds knitted fabrics, it is concluded that the air permeability and moisture absorption properties increase linearly with increasing of contents of cooldry fiber. Fabric moisture wicking and fast drying properties are better with content of cooldry fiber. The wicking behavior of 100% cotton polyester fabric is 3 times of that of the cotton fabric. the moisture permeability improving about 20%, breathable quantity improving 90% approximately, fast drying speed increasing 1 times approximately, and the fabrics have good thermal comfort ability.(4)Study on dyeing performance of modified polyester fibers and knitted fabricModified polyester molecule contains a certain amount of polar groups, and there is microporous structure on the surface of the fiber. Using disperse dye, temperature 95℃, pH value 5, heat preservation 60min, fiber dyeing rate is (70~90)%, and can realize dispersal dyeing under normal atmosphere. Using cationic dye, initial uptake is at a lower temperature (60℃begans dyeing), and dyeing temperature is low (80℃dyeing rate reaches 99%). The fabric has good dyeing performance, the slower dyeing rate and good levelness. Polyester/cotton blended fabric adopts cationic/reactive dyes two-bath dyeing. The application of the cationic dye then reactive dyes, so the fabrics apparent more bright-coloured, color fastness to washing resistance value and better performance, especially in the fastness to washing more advantages.The conclusion is that first cationic dye then reactive dye process is good.
