Parallel machine tool(PMT) based on spatial parallel. It makes kinematics of a fundamental and machine tool structure which based on the Cartesian coordinates of linear displacement nearly two centuries change in principle. Parallel machine tool use truss frame structure to replace the traditional tools of cantilever beams and two points to carry the components of cutting force and gravity, with high stiffness, good dynamic performance, modular, high, easy to reconstruct and mechanical structure and simple. But in order to make the control system of parallel machine tool with flexible configuration, simple extensions, uniform standard and easy to achieve unified management features, at the same time, the corresponding control software is timely expand and connection so that the control system is easy to realize and more standardized development, which means that the parallel machine tool needs to have an open control system.The subject of research and development closely combined with 2-PRR parallel machine tool, using the American company Delta Tau's Advantage 400 CNC system as the main part. With its powerful control functions it is easy to architecture of an open control system. Mainly study the key technologies of the open Parallel machine tool CNC system, involving interpolation algorithm, trajectory control, and numerical control system software and hardware design and so on. Because of the standardization of the control system and its open characteristics, we still can add new hardware and software system according to the needs easily in future research, to expand the system functions and improve the overall performance of parallel machine tool.Paper begins with a brief introduction to the characteristics and development of parallel institutions and the machine tool control system. Put forward to design a parallel machine tool CNC system should reach several technical indicators. Then, through further study and comparison, the whole scheme of 2-PRR parallel machine tool control system is shown. The whole plan is based on the idea of open control systems, using digital control system as the main body of the PMT's open loop control system. Then, the paper expounds the characteristics and links of hardware products, constructs a hardware platform of the control system. Finally, based on the kinematics analysis of 2-PRR parallel mechanism, complete the whole control system software design. These include the establishment and set axis; CNC I variable; the G codes of interpolation programming; etc.
