As an important class of functional materials, perylene bisimide derivative possess many advantages of stable structure, outstanding photoelectron properties, high thermal stability and exhibit wide absorption and emission bands in the visible. Inspired by intriguing application in molecular electronics, light energy conversion, photocatalysis, and artificial photosynthesis, the photoinduced energy and electron transfer in donor-acceptor systems attract extensive attention. In this paper, a series of novel PDIs attached with nitronyl-nitroxide radicals were designed and synthesized, and their photoelectron properties have been studied. Three chapters were included in present thesis.Chapter 1: The research and applications of fluorescent probe, perylene derivatives and nitroxide have been reviewed. The detection methods of the common metal ions have also been reviewed. The thesis aims to design fluorescent probes based on perylene bisimides.Chapter 2: A series of novel fluorescence probes based on perylene bisimides have been synthesized. The compounds were studied in detailed with steady-state spectroscopy and dynamic-state spectroscopy. The nitroxide incorporated to perylene bisimide was proved to be high sensitive and selective to iron (Ⅲ) in chemical system. Owing to the interaction between the iron and nitroxide is weak. A series of units were designed and synthesized. UV-vis and fluorescence titration were carried out by introducing the metal ions dissolved in methanol to a solution of PDIs in chloroform. It was found that the compound 10 could interact with most metal ions.Chapter 3: Perylene derivatives containing free radical of nitroxid (NIT) were synthesized. The covalent connection between perylene derivatives and free radical of nitroxid (NIT) was researched.
