The Research And Design Of Submarine Plough Trench Cutter And Analysis Of Its Stability

Submarine plough trench cutter is a kind of special underwater machinery used as trenching and laying for pipeline in the benthal. Its main function is to complete the trenching and laying operations of submarine pipeline and protect its security. This subject originated from the project "The Research on Trenching Technology and Equipment for Hard Clay" of Offshore Oil Engineering Corp. The purpose of the project is to design and develop the submarine plough trench cutter with independent intellectual property rights.The paper mainly studied the design and simulation of main structure and analysis working stability of the whole machinery. It provided an important reference for designing and producing the submarine plough trench cutter.Firstly, the paper introduced the methods of submarine trenching and the research situation of submarine trenching cutter and provided overall design scheme and the whole structure layout according to the submarine plough trench cutter. It calculated work loads and established the load model of the submarine plough trench cutter. Then it analyzed the stability by using principle of space force and proved that the overall design scheme and the whole structure layout were feasible.Secondly, the paper designed the main detailed structure of submarine plough trench cutter and established the 3D model of structure by using Solidworks. It carryed out mechanical analysis and calculation of some key parts and checked strength of structure by using the finite element software acconding to the stress state of the components. It discussed the structure forms and checked methods of weldingline and verified the rationality of the structure design.Finally, it conducted the dynamic simulation of submarine plough trench cutter and calculated the main parameters of hydraulic cylinder. The experiment on land of submarine plough trench cutter was carryed out and measured the size of trench and draging force. The results of this experiment verified that the design and analysis of submarine plough trench cutter was correct.
