At present, most of coal cutters all over the world adjust the roller's height by hand. Because of the bad environment, the worker can not adjust the roller's height timely leading to roller's damage, resources wasting or gas explosion. The way to solve these problems is to realize the coal cutter's automatic height adjustment.This paper is based on some coal cutter company's reliability research projects, researching the roller automatic height adjustment system. Using pressure feedback servo control method to realize the roller's height adjustment automatically, avoid the limitations of using other technology. Build the system's mechanistic model by Pro/ENGINEER and import it to ADAMS by Mechanical/Pro; Build the system's Hydraulic model in ADAMS/Hydraulic environment and connect it to the mechanistic model; Build the control system's Mathematical model and research its dynamics features by MATLAB/SIMULINK; IN ADAMS environment, add the load curve on roller then simulate the system getting the simulation curve to verify the system's stability and reliability.Set the control system's error limit to avoid the rigid coal's interference; At the same time, the research is based on virtual prototype technology ,no needing to produce the physical sample, bring great economic efficiency for enterprises and cutting product's design time. It has great significance for coal cutter's design and research.
