Bright super-fine polyester is a new variety developed in recent years, and it is the mainstream development tendency in differential polyester filament. Many scholars have been studied the relative properties of polyester since it was initially produced, but there are few reports about bright ultra-fine polyester. The basic structure and properties of polyester fibers with different sections and fineness were studied, and the influence of dry heat treatment on the structure of bright ultra-fine polyester fibers was discussed. Meanwhile, experiments on the dyeing performance of PET fiber were carried out. The effects of dyeing temperature on the uptake, apparent color depth and fiber structure were discussed. The dyeing characteristics of different dyes with temperature increasing, and the influences of dye on the mirgration and deep dyeing properties were also discussed. The influence of temperature on the dyeing depth was also evaluated when dyeing for different shape and different fineness polyester fibers in the same bath. The kinetics and thermodynamics of dyeing with Disperse Red 3B were studied.The results showed that: the mechanical properties of bright ultra-fine polyester fibers were increased with 140℃~200℃of dry heat treatment, and the dry heat treatment had no influence on the structure of PET fiber.The best dyeing temperature of bright ultra-fine polyester fibers were at 130℃, and the trends of dyeing uptake and color depth were almost same. The dyeing behaviors of disperse dyes on bright ultra-fine polyester fibers were related to the dyes structure and the fiber fineness. With the dyeing temperature increasing, the heating dyeing rate curves of four fibers were consistent. Generally speaking, the finer denier the fiber has faster heating dyeing rate. The levelness of low temperature type Disperse Red 3B dye on PET fiber at 130℃in one dye bath condition was better than other disperse dyes. And dyeing has no influence on the structure of polyester fibers. The dyeing rate constant of pure dyes for round fiber RK617 was higher than that of three other fibers and has shorter half-dyeing time, and the dyeing rate increased with dyeing temperature increasing. The songs profiled kinetic parameters of three fibers nearly had no difference. The isotherm of pure disperse dyes on bright super-fine polyester fiber belonged to the Nernst model and the partition coefficients increased with the increase of dyeing temperature.
