Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) have an important influence on the formation of photochemical smog, secondary organic aerosols and organic acids in the air, which are severely harmful to human health and atmospheric environment. Therefore, research on the source and emission characteristics of VOCs has been an important issue in atmospheric chemistry studies, which provides scientific basis for the control of air pollution. For these reasons, this study conducted research on source strengths, characteristics and control policy of Enameled Wire Industry VOCs.According to the source-tracing idea,site surveys,production process and data investigation,the flow processes of VOCs from raw materials input to products output were divided into six procedures including solvent input, destruction, leakage, fugacity, final emission, products output. The material amount, composition distributions and emission characteristics of VOCs were studied by experiments and analysis which were sampled by volumetric flask and stainless steel cans.The results indicated that of 41 ones in the VOCs observed, 81.1% VOCs from raw materials were destroyed in decontamination system, 3.5% escaped from paint storage tank, paint supply system,etc. 2.6% leaked from furnace outlet and other links, 8.4% emitted from organized emission pipes,only 0.038% were remain in products. The main input and emitted constituents of VOCs were ethyl benzene,methyl phenol,dimethyl phenol,phenol, dimethyl benzene,NMP, DMF.The initial collection concentration of VOCs was ranged from 2000~3000mg/m3, the organized emission concentration of VOCs was ranged from 150~300mg/m3,the leakage concentration of VOCs from furnace was ranged from 30~60 mg/m3, the fugacity concentration of VOCs from paint storage tank was ranged from 1000~2000 mg/m3.The emission factor of QZ,QA,QXY,Q(XY/ZY)-2/200,SBEIW was 19.72, 19.62, 18.23, 25.65, 31.26, 22.90 g VOCs/kg Enameled Wire. The emission of VOCs from enameled wire manufactures in the year 2010 was 2.62 million tons which was forecast to reach 3.19 million tons in the year 2015.
