Now, East Asian countries are standing in the historical key points from dispersion to unity. However, it has to face many frustrations along the way. How to solve these problems has become the subject of East Asian countries to study and the long-term goal. In fact, most countries in the world have brought environmental issues into their foreign policies in the booming trend of international environmental cooperation, and public welfare of environmental cooperation also determines that it correspond to the interests of people. So East Asian Community needs the environmental cooperation as an effective and direct way. Meanwhile, the overall environment in East Asia cooperation has laid a good foundation, and will play a great role in promoting the building of East Asian Community.Through the research of environmental cooperation in East Asia, this article, based on the discussion on the current environmental cooperation situation in East Asia, focuses on the analysis of the important role of it in the process of constructing East Asian Community. The beginning of East Asian community depends on the East Asia's economic ties, the instability of security system and the Asian financial crisis. It originates from the ASEAN into a multi-leveled development with various system pattern, which has met many obstacles in the development process including problems left over by history, economic disparity, cultural differences and other security dilemma. But environmental cooperation in East Asia has developed rapidly under the trend of globalization on environmental issues, such as bilateral cooperation becoming much closer, regional organizations becoming more perfect, and non-governmental exchange has gradually increased. Therefore, environmental cooperation is more likely to be widely accepted and it should be a breakthrough in the East Asian Community construction.
